POLICE investigators are eyeing personal motive behind the killing of a female bank executive by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of the National Bureau
of Investigation (NBI) headquarters in Manila on Thursday.

National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Leonardo Espina said that personal grudge was among the angles being considered in the killing of Rosemarie Gatan, a Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) executive.

“Yes, it’s one of the angles, but the police investigation in this case is still on-going,” Espina said in a text message.

Gatan, 51, the manager of BPI Taft Ave. branch, was shot dead by two gunmen while on her way to work.

Police theorized that the assailants could have waited for the victim to arrive as she normally reported to work at that time each morning.

The gunmen reportedly drover near her vehicle and opened fire, hitting Gatan in the head near her left ear. Although wounded, she still managed to drive past her bank branch on Padre Faura Street before slamming into a concrete sign in front of the NBI office.

She was rushed by her co-workers and bystanders to the Medical Center Manila but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians, according to police reports in Camp Crame.
